The much-awaited ‘Immovable Property & VAT: From Inception to Production’ seminar by the Chelco VAT International Academy is under way before a packed house at Columbia Plaza Venue Center in Limassol.

Former Tax Commissioner, Yiannis Tsagaris, and Academy instructors, Alexis Tsielepis and Panagiotis Iona, join forces to present an in-depth analysis of VAT in the Real Estate industry during a series of seminars in Limassol, Nicosia and Larnaca. The seminars are delivered in the Greek language.

The Nicosia seminar on the VAT Tour will be held tomorrow at Cleopatra Hotel and the Larnaca one on Wednesday, 14 February at Radisson Blu Hotel.

Real Estate and VAT have a multifaceted relationship, which is constantly being tested mainly due to the increasingly complex transactions that emerge on a daily basis. Many VAT legislative provisions concerning real estate were the brainchild of Mr. Tsangaris while he led the Tax Department, hence the reference to “inception” in the title of the seminar. And since VAT is a “consumption” tax, hence the transition from inception to consumption!

The three experts are analysing, at the same time with presenting the underlying legislation and the interpretation given by the Tax Department, a multitude of both conventional and complex real estate transactions through real-life examples.
