50 ECJ Cases. One Week. Rethinking EU VAT.
For the first time ever, the VAT Forum’s European Court of Justice (ECJ) Cases module will be delivered in Cyprus, as part of the VAT Forum’s prestigious EU VAT Expert Degree.
On 21-25 September 2026, Managing Director of Chelco VAT, Alexis Tsielepis, will teach in Limassol one of the flagship modules of the prestigious VAT Forum EU VAT Expert Degree.
While the intensive five-day, 30-hour programme forms part of the 2026-2027 EU VAT Expert Degree, it is also available as a standalone module. Whether you are pursuing the full qualification or simply looking to deepen your expertise, this week stands on its own.
Over five intensive days, participants will analyse 50 landmark judgments of the European Court of Justice – not simply to understand what the Court decided, but why it matters in practice. The programme goes beyond case summaries. It explores how the Court’s reasoning continues to shape the interpretation of the VAT Directive, asking a question that every VAT professional should be considering: Is the ECJ applying settled principles – or quietly rewriting them?
Through a critical examination of the Court’s most influential decisions, participants will identify where the case law has remained consistent, where it has evolved, and what those developments mean for businesses, advisers and tax professionals across the European Union.
The standalone module is available for €1,500+VAT, and participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance issued by VAT Forum.
