DRILLING THE CORE OF VAT

For those who have not ventured deep into the world of VAT, the path looks scary, unconnected and unwelcoming. For this reason, most do not stay longer than they need to, or have to. And like most unfamiliar territories, having an experienced guide, a Sherpa of sorts, proves useful!

The Chelco VAT International Academy and Alexis Tsielepis will do just that!

From the people that brought you ‘Navigating the EU VAT Directive’ and ‘VAT Shower: The logic behind the EU VAT Directive in one day’, this brand new, full day seminar will explore the main chapters of the EU VAT Directive, in a concise, clear and understandable manner, analysing the underlying philosophy and connecting all the dots. Key judgments from the European Court of Justice will act as a torch to light up grey areas. Beginners will learn from scratch and advanced VAT users will refresh the knowledge they already have.

Let us take you on the journey with us and Drill the Core of VAT. Let us help you understand what VAT is about, how it works and discover its direction, depth and magnitude!

The seminar will cover the following areas of VAT legislation:

  • What is the ‘Taxable Person’
  • Understanding the four Taxable Transactions
  • Analysing the rules for the Place of Supply
  • Explaining the Reverse Charge procedure
  • Determining the taxing point
  • Determining the amount on which VAT is charged
  • Determining what VAT rate to apply
  • Understanding Exemptions
  • Understanding the rules of claiming back VAT paid on goods and services acquired
  • Knowing who has the Obligation to Pay the VAT

The seminar is open to any professional with exposure to VAT matters such as accountants, chief accountants, CFOs, financial controllers, tax advisors, VAT consultants, et al.

Due to social distancing and Covid-19 health & safety restrictions and regulations applicable at the time, seats are limited!
