Candidates of the 2023-2024 Diploma in VAT Excellence (DiVE) marked the end of their academic year with a souVAT… souvla party at the country house of their instructor, Alexis Tsielepis, at Moniatis, last Friday.
Past DiVERS were also invited to the soirée, which featured barbequed culinary delights, a drink or two and some lively conversation at the foothills of the Troodos forest.
Not surprisingly, very little of the conversation between the VAT experts revolved around indirect tax, except for the occasional plea for exam pointers from the DiVE alumni.
Even though classes for the year have convened, the course officially ends with an oral and written exam, scheduled for 1 and 2 July 2024.
DiVE is a course spanning a period of 10-months, which elevates Value Added Tax knowledge to the level of a VAT expert, with an emphasis on the Cyprus VAT legislation.
The 2024-2025 academic year will commence in September 2024 with completion in June 2025 and will be taught by Alexis Tsielepis and guest VAT experts from Cyprus and abroad.
As of next year, DiVE will be taught every other year.
