Limassol – Costas Tsielepis & Co Ltd, auditors and tax advisors, will celebrate its 40th Anniversary with an elaborate gala reception at Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, in Limassol on 17 November 2018.
The invitation-only event will be attended by the firm’s clients, associates and of course staff from Cyprus and abroad as well as the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, Minister of Finance, Harris Georgiades, Limassol Mayor Nicos Nicolaides, and an array of other dignitaries and VIPs.
The gala represents the culmination of a series of events throughout 2018 organised for the firm’s friends and staff, including an art night, a karaoke night, a sports day, a blood drive and much more.
The Gala
The fully renovated Parklane (ex. Le Meridien) will open its doors for the firm and its guests for one night only, and it will then close again until its formal opening in March 2019.
The evening will include a concert by legendary Greek singer, Alkistis Protopsalti, as well as performances from local and international entertainers. An after-midnight party will ensue until the morning hours.
York Brandes, General Manager of the posh, all-new Parklane, commented that “Costas Tsielepis & Co is one of our most valued associates and we jumped at the opportunity to join in their 40th anniversary celebrations,” and added:
“Showcasing the hotel three and a half months before its official opening is a huge challenge for us, but one we are willing and are even eager to undertake.”
The Firm
Nestled on the beachfront of Cyprus’ business capital, Limassol, Costas Tsielepis & Co Ltd first started its operations in 1978.
Capitalizing on the island’s strategic positon as a stepping stone to Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, it has since evolved from a small accountancy practice with two clients into one of the most successful and well-known tax, audit and advisory firms in Limassol.
Today, it offers services to clients and associates in Cyprus, Europe, Russia & CIS and worldwide.
Costas Tsielepis & Co was founded by Costas Tsielepis, one of the island’s early pioneers of the accounting profession. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Tsielepis has over 50 years of experience in Cyprus and the UK and a registration number with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus of 41.
The Early Days
Reminiscing the early days, the firm’s founder said that when he started the company 40 years ago from a small room on the 2nd floor of his house in Mesa Yitonia, there were two employees.
“It was myself and my wife Anastasia. I was preparing the financial statements and my wife was typing them. Little did I know of the challenging and exciting journey that would ensue,” he said, adding:
“The emergence of professional services in Cyprus in the 1980s created unprecedented opportunities as well as challenges for us and for the profession. Through the years we have expanded our services and have worked hard and methodically to achieve operational excellence.”
In 2008, Tsielepis handed over the company to an experienced team of partners and directors led by his sons, George and Alexis.
Business Motto
George Tsielepis, who is now the firm’s Managing Director, pointed out that “we spend considerable time and effort to understand who our clients are, what they do and where they wish to go. We then put together bespoke solutions so as to maximize the value of their businesses, and in the process, we maximise the value of our business too,” adding:
“I look forward to letting loose on an evening of celebration and fun with our clients, our staff and our guests.”
Alexis Tsielepis, a Director in the firm and in charge of the Tax Department, said:
“At Costas Tsielepis & Co we believe that the history of learning amounts to a history of specialisation. It is for this reason that through the years, we enriched the firm with a number of specialised companies to provide real value to our clients.”
“One of those companies, of which we are particularly proud,” he added, “is Chelco VAT Ltd, the first VAT-dedicated firm on the island and its educational arm, the Chelco VAT International Academy that deals with the organisation of VAT seminars and workshops.”
The Directors
The firm’s team of Directors also includes Antonis Christodoulides, Costas Constantinou and Nicolas Papapanayiotou.
Costas Tsielepis & Co maintains immediate access to the island’s tax and corporate offerings and cooperates with an external network of highly-specialized associates, which complement the services it provides in-house, allowing it to offer a wide range of leading business services to its select local and international clientele.
At the same time, it maintains strong and durable relationships with the island’s key public and private organisations, professional bodies and decision makers and is frequently consulted on industry policy-making decisions.
