Limassol – The winner of this year’s Chelco VAT Weight Challenge, Christina Karagiorgi, donated €1.000 to her favourite cause, the Ithaki Charity Organization.

Karagiorgi, General Manager of Chelco Management Services, won the challenge by losing a hefty seven kilos with Aristi Zorpa, an Administrator with the same company, trailing closely behind with six kilos.
The ‘Chelco VAT Weight Challenge – Just for the Health of It!’ campaign kicked off in January with a weigh in of all participating staff of Chelco VAT Ltd and friends who then set out to lose weight. Kilos lost would be converted to Euros and donated to local charities.
However, the total kilos lost were not enough to amass an adequate amount, so Chelco VAT converted to Euros the total weight of participants instead. That number was 1.500 kilos so in addition to Karagiorgi’s donation, the remaining €500 will be donated on behalf of Zorpa to the Pancyprian Antileukemia Association ΖΩΗ.
Ithaki or in Greek, ‘Ιθάκη, Φιλανθρωπικός Σύνδεσμος Στήριξης Ατόμων με Άνοια’ was founded in Limassol in 2011. It is an NGO with a two-fold mission: a) to educate the public regarding the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and b) to contribute to the improvement of existing means and methods of patient treatment and relief.
