Limassol – Costas Tsielepis & Co Ltd, auditors and tax advisors, celebrated its 40th Anniversary with an audiovisual extravaganza at Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, in Limassol on Saturday, 17 November 2018.
In the presence of the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades and the First Lady, the firm treated its more than 500 guests to an unforgettable evening, which included a concert by the legendary Greek singer, Alkistis Protopsalti, a performance by the sensational girl band, Amadeus electric string quartet, a gastronomic feast, an endless flow of wine and cocktails, a few heart-touching moments and lots of surprises.
Also present at the gala was the Minister of Finance, Harris Georgiades, Limassol Mayor, Nicos Nicolaides, a number of the firm’s clients and associates from Cyprus and abroad, its employees, and an array of other dignitaries and VIPs.
The posh, all-new Parklane (ex. Le Meridien) opened its doors for the firm and its guests for one night only, and it then closed again until its formal opening in March 2019.
Addressing the event, President Anastasiades said that Costas Tsielepis & Co is widely recognised for offering high-quality professional services both in Cyprus and internationally, adding that they do that “in a prudent, sound and sustainable manner.”
“My dearest friend, Costas Tsielepis and his wife Anastasia, back in 1978 (when they started the company), they turned it into one of the leading firms in the industry today,” he said and added:
“His two sons George and Alexis continue the company’s expansion along with the significant contribution of a highly qualified and professional team of associates and partners.”
The President ended his speech by saying that he had no doubt that “their highly respected and multi-disciplinary organisation will continue being even more effective and successful in the years to come.”
Reminiscing the early days, the firm’s founder, Costas Tsielepis, said that when he started the company 40 years ago from a small room on the 2nd floor of his house in Mesa Yitonia, there were two employees.
“It was my wife and I. I was carrying out the audit, preparing the financial statements and my wife was typing them,” he said, adding:
“Generally, we can compare the old times as riding a donkey on a narrow mountain path and the present times as driving a Ferrari on a German highway with no speed limit.”
In 2008, Tsielepis handed over the company to a team of partners and directors led by his sons, George and Alexis.
George Tsielepis, who is now the firm’s Managing Director, relayed his heartfelt thanks to the firm’s clients and associates from Cyprus and abroad, “many of whom have been with us before I joined the firm.”
“It has been a pleasure to work with you and we look forward to serving you for many years to come,” he said.
He then addressed the firm’s employees by saying that “all this could not be achieved without the dedication, devotion and hard work of our directors, managers and staff. Thank you for sharing our dream, and for your contribution to making our dream a reality.”
Instead of a speech, the firm’s Director and well-known VAT expert, Alexis Tsielepis, chose to welcome his guests in a most unique and unusual way.
Accompanied by members of the Diastasis choir, he sang ‘You Raise My Up’ which he dedicated to his parents, his family and the firm’s employees.
The firm’s team of Directors also includes Antonis Christodoulides, Costas Constantinou and Nicolas Papapanayiotou.
The gala represented the culmination of a series of events throughout 2018 organised by the firm for its friends and staff, that included an art night, a karaoke night, a sports day, a blood drive and much more.
